Miles hails from Post Falls, Idaho and is majoring in environmental science with a minor in ecology and geographic information systems (GIS) at the University of Idaho. Whether he’s fishing, hiking, birdwatching or camping, Miles is always finding ways to enjoy and experience the outdoors. He is excited to collaborate with experts to protect and conserve natural ecosystems so that future generations can find the same comfort in nature that he does. Miles has worked with the Forest Service and has been involved with several research projects on campus to assess various hydrologic issues. Currently, he is creating a hazard index to predict areas of high tire pollution and is developing methods to detect tire pollution in riparian sediment throughout the Pacific Northwest.
